How to Give Back - Internally and Externally

Many people don’t know that our President and Founder of Extrity Services, David Coleman, wasn’t always the debonair and successful entrepreneur that he is today. While he currently helms a thriving, multi-state security company and boasts a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration, David once was a homeless youth and lived in his car while he paved his way.

It’s an incredible story of perseverance and one that is a blueprint for success for those that work hard and never give up in the face of adversity. But it is also one grounded in the realities of helping hands, mentorship, and goodwill exchanges in the community you call home.

This explains why Extrity Services believes so strongly in philanthropy, especially when it comes to extending a hand to the valuable, yet vulnerable, next generation. It also explains why we so firmly believe in investing in our people. We believe that we’re only as good as our team and our team is only as good as our goodwill.

So, how do we give back and what do we invest in?

Support Philanthropy – Giving Back To Our Community

Every year, we get involved with local charities and organizations that support this vision. This year we got involved with Stronger Than My Father, Inc. as a charity of focus. When we learned about their goal of helping young people succeed in life, we were immediately moved. We learned about their involvement with academic assistance, character development, and spiritual enrichment. These skills and tools are extended during their formative years. 

Part of their process is a Hope Leadership Academy. This program is an after-school continuum of Pre-K to 5th-grade services. It provides academic assistance, social skills, emotional guidance, and computer-based literacy. 

The organization also provides Family Life programs, which help parents in the community. Family Life provides monthly parenting classes, live events, family picnics, and ongoing family support.

Their program partners with other organizations to shine a light on career planning, starting a business, and big picture coaching. 

One of our other favorite initiatives they provide is their Youth Empowerment Summer Camp. It’s a productive 7-day Summer Camp that includes life skill lessons, field trips, and team building.

Our next generation is the foundation our future is built upon. If it hadn’t been for the support in David’s life, his journey would have turned out very differently. We believe in getting behind an organization that is going to lay the foundation for our youth’s success!

Our team is organic and hand-picked. Our internal group is made up of a think tank of exceptional professionals, some of whom have worked together for almost a decade. We pride ourselves on our pack. 

Our crew works within the communities we serve to hand-select exceptional hospitality ambassadors. These ambassadors make up our security professionals and we only work with people that show the desire and gumption to provide the best.

De-Escalation Training

One of our most important pieces of the puzzle has to be our de-escalation training. Under this umbrella, our team goes through rigorous role play to strengthen those proactive/reactive muscles. 

CPR & First Aid Training 

Another critical step in ensuring that we are making our community – and programs – better is our CPR and First Aid training. It’s not enough for us to simply put a hired hand on the job. We want our security professionals to be able to save lives. So, we invest to ensure our team is trained in CPR and first aid skills to make a difference when it’s needed.

Compensation And Benefits

We believe that for people to thrive, they need to be able to support themselves. They have to make a livable wage. We believe in compensating our security professionals accordingly. In addition, we take on a portion of their benefits. We believe that every member of our team should have the ability to build a successful career as part of our family.

More Than Just Work
